Why allow voice actors to do their job and dub content on Prime Video when artificial intelligence exists? The latest “innovative” idea from e-commerce giant Amazon involves the implementation of an artificial intelligence service aimed at generating dubbing for various Japanese titles on the platform, thus providing voice translation into English and Spanish.
In addition to being an affront in poor taste to professionals in the sector, the result obtained by the AI was of poor quality and rather unpleasant, thus ruining the experience of watching the animated titles in question. Following this implementation, users from the vast world of the Internet turned directly to the company, providing harsh criticism and bitter comments, albeit sincere. The company therefore decided to remove the recently implemented feature.
Although artificial intelligence is a tool with great potential, the results obtained do not automatically equate to quality content. Innovation is always appealing to those who deal with technology and finance, but its continuous and indiscriminate use is never a wise choice.
