Updates and simple changes are often downloaded automatically by devices, without necessarily requiring the intervention of the user. Nowadays, it is therefore normal to open a software programme and notice differences, whether small or large, without asking too many questions. However, when it comes to substantial changes, you always have the option of whether or not to implement the change.

From next month, October 2025, Microsoft will go against the grain. It will impose the installation of the “Microsoft 365 Copilot” application on all Windows devices that have the desktop client apps of the same name. The notice was recently published in the Microsoft 365 message centre by the company.

The application in question is intended as a centralised access point to leverage Copilot and artificial intelligence-based features to their full potential; the implementation of this change is intended to simplify the use of the entire system.
