Tucker Carlson, an American journalist known for his controversial views and frequent tendency to spread misinformation, recently conducted an interview with Sam Altman, the famous executive and co-founder of OpenAI, another rather controversial figure. The meeting touched on several topics, including the relationship between spirituality and the alleged “life” of artificial intelligence, moral ethics according to ChatGPT, and a series of rather sombre themes.

The conversation naturally turned to the sad increase in the number of suicides committed by avid users of ChatGPT, then delving into the death of Suchir Balaji, a former researcher at OpenAI. The young man, just 26 years old, lost his life in November 2024, just a couple of weeks after accusing the company of violating US copyright law.

Law enforcement officials declared his death a suicide, but according to his mother and evidence found at the scene, the reality may differ from what has been stated. During the interview, Carlson asked Altman a series of pertinent questions, eliciting a cold, detached response, despite the clear subliminal message.
