LVMH, the leading French multinational group in the high-end sector, owns some of the world's most famous luxury brands, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Bulgari, and the Italian brand Loro Piana. The latter, which specializes in the production and sale of cashmere clothing, was recently placed under receivership following the discovery of alleged abuse of its employees.

An Italian court is handling the case, the latest in a series of controversies, according to a recent report by Reuters. The case was preceded by five other similar cases, with investigations beginning in 2023.

The court reported that Loro Piana had subcontracted its production to two Chinese-owned companies on Italian soil, front companies without adequate production capacity that, moreover, allegedly exploited their employees.
