The corruption of artificial intelligence within the music industry began in 2023, with the release of “Heart on My Sleeve,” a particularly compelling duet between Drake and The Weeknd, although, never written, produced or created by the artists mentioned. The song immediately went viral, even before the public could understand its origins.
To this day, in 2025, the implementation of this technology within the music scene is not universally accepted, much less welcomed. In response to this uncontrolled spread of artificially generated auditory content, therefore, the industry in question is shifting its focus to a new method: if this trend cannot be stopped, might as well make it traceable.
The goal is not to recognize an AI generated content as a result of its generation, but to identify it beforehand, tag it with the necessary metadata, and control how it moves through the relevant system. To make this new methodology work, therefore, several detection systems are currently being implemented within the entire music pipeline.
