At a time when information is no longer trustworthy, how can humans stay updated on what is happening in the world? The era of fake news has started for years now, several steps have been taken to succeed in dealing with this continuous spread of misinformation, however, it seems to have recently gained a successor that can worsen the situation exponentially.

Since the beginning of the Gaza War in October 2023, several war conflicts have developed in the Middle East area, referred to as “The Middle Eastern Crisis,” including the recent Iran-Israel War, which broke out on June 13, 2025. Throughout the whole affair, visual sources to support news regarding the clashes have been scarce, due to the media blackout sanctioned by Israel.

Faced with this situation, generative artificial intelligence has become the protagonist of countless visual content regarding the conflicts, fueled by the lack of relevant photographs. In addition, making use of this recent technology, leaders of both staged countries have generated and shared images of propaganda and xenophobia.
