Online piracy is one of the easiest activities for any user of the vast world of the internet to engage in, as it does not require following complex processes or apparently jeopardizing one's electronic devices to obtain satisfactory results. Nevertheless, the practice in question remains a violation of the law, especially following the update of the regulations in force within the DSA, the Digital Services Act.

To address this phenomenon, the Italian Communications Authority, known as AGCOM, has recently collaborated with Google on a project aimed at inhibiting access to illegal content through currently available DNS services. To implement the plan in question, the two big names used the Piracy Shield platform, a resource through which they were able to collect and view the various reports on the matter.

The case occurred, more precisely, towards the end of May, coinciding with the early matches of the last day of the Serie A championship, a sporting event that usually prompts users to turn to illegal online streaming.
