Last month, an artist made a series of rather interesting posts on her Bluesky account, recounting an unpleasant realization she had recently come to. The user, who goes by antire.al, claims, in fact, that some designs she created in 2017 were used without permission within a new video game from the studio Bungie, a famous U.S.-based video game production company known for titles such as Halo and Destiny.

The game in question is titled Marathon and will be available to the general public from September 23, 2025, however, the alpha test was released recently, giving a specific number of fans the opportunity to try out the video game experience in advance. According to antire.al, the game's environments were plastered with different poster designs created several years ago by the artist.

According to a recent statement by Bungie, the misuse of the works in question was allegedly caused by the mistake of a former team member. The company has since apologized for what happened, stressing the importance of the respect for art as a fundamental part of their policy.
