During a recent ruling, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers ruled that Apple, the mobile technology giant, intentionally violated an injunction that prohibited the company from placing anticompetitive prices within their apps. As a result of this statement, the company was ordered to stop charging an additional 27 percent commission for each purchase made through iPhone apps.

As a result of this news, the Amazon Kindle app for iOS introduced a new button within its interface. The “get book” option is now available and makes it easier to purchase titles; using this feature provides a way to complete orders through the user's mobile web browser.

Previously, viewing the prices of some titles was not always allowed, as was the actual purchase of titles through the Kindle or Amazon app.
