Paul McCartney: Don't let AI rip off artists.

‘We are the people, you are the government! You must protect us. That's your job!’ Said Sir Paul McCartney, one of the two surviving members of the Beatles, in a recent interview regarding the current state of the UK Copyright Act.

In recent times, the British government has proposed changes to the law in question through a revision aimed at the development of artificial intelligence. More precisely, the proposed changes would allow developers of AI models to use content from creators on the Internet to develop their own models, unless rights holders object.

Faced with the government's proposal, the artist took the opportunity to reiterate a rather widespread thought regarding AI: if used in the right way, it is undoubtedly a rather valuable tool, but it should not give lazy and opportunistic people the opportunity to steal other people's work.
