Graylark Technologies, a Boston-based company specialising in AI, has recently developed and released a product called ‘GeoSpy’: a powerful artificial intelligence tool capable of discovering the location of photos based on features within the image itself. The tool could prove fundamental for law enforcement agencies, which is why the company is currently working on a project dedicated exclusively to the sector in question.

Nowadays, the ability to trace where a photo was taken is nothing particularly transcendental. No longer does that sneaky feeling of panic arise when faced with the idea that anyone in possession of that file might be able to find out where you are, or where you have been.

This kind of ‘hidden’ information, however, tends to remain within the personal circle of one's contacts, those who, in one way or another, might have access to both the content itself and the original location. The situation is quite different when it comes to outsiders, strangers and outsiders whose intentions may not always be positive. Unfortunately, GeoSpy is currently being used by several malicious users for stalking purposes.
