Anthaney O'Connor, originally from Alaska, went from informant to suspect within a few investigations. The man had originally contacted the authorities to report an airman interested in child pornography, which he also shared with the informant himself. During the investigation, O'Connor consented to a police search of his devices - they reportedly found incriminating evidence inside for both the aviator and the informant.

The latter allegedly offered to generate child pornography for the man, more precisely a virtual reality concerning CSAM (child sexual abuse material). The whole thing seems to have stemmed from an exchange between the two suspects, where O'Connor allegedly proposed a payment of USD 200 in exchange for an image ‘edited’ according to the aviator's preferences.

During questioning, O'Connor claimed that he was only in possession of real images of child sexual abuse because ‘it is possible that they were mistakenly downloaded’ during his search for the material needed to generate this kind of content artificially.
