In Tajueco, a small village located in the autonomous community of Castile and León, live approximately 115 inhabitants, accustomed to a simple and quiet life, rather rural in comparison with new habits. Consequently, when faced with the passage of the famous Google machine, used to provide the images needed for ‘street view’ on Google Maps, they prefer to stay at home. All except one.
In the last week, a rather disturbing image has gone viral, showing a man dressed in blue loading a white bundle, suspiciously shaped like a body, into the trunk of a red car. The photos were taken in October, during a seemingly dull day; however, what was taken allowed the Spanish National Police to solve a case opened in 2023.
Together with other evidence gathered during the investigation, the passage of Google at that exact moment led to the arrest of two people for the murder and dismemberment of a Cuban citizen. This is not the first time that today's technology, not intended for exclusive use by law enforcement, has led to a case being solved.
