The tech giant OpenAI always seems to be the centre of attention, for better or worse. During August 2024, a researcher had left the company, expressing a certain level of concern regarding some unethical decisions implemented by the company.

Suchir Balaji's departure from OpenAI caused more movement than desired: the 26-year-old took his leave by publicly sharing his doubt that the company had broken US copyright law during the development of ChatGPT. Doubt that is currently confirmed in most people's minds, although it has not yet been stated by the company itself.

Sadly, Suchir Balaji was recently found dead in his San Francisco flat. Investigations have determined that the cause of death was suicide.
