Amazon Confirms Breach of Employee Data.

Recently, more and more companies have become victims of cyber attacks and internal security breaches, leading to a subdued, yet justified, general panic. Malicious attackers with access to the right tools and possessing the necessary knowledge to breach the protections of large companies are not exactly new - attacks of a similar nature occur almost cyclically.

The online sales giant, Amazon, recently joined the list of victims of this practice. Early last week, in fact, the company confirmed to 404 Media, the media outlet responsible for today's reference article, a serious breach of employee data, which was subsequently published on a forum specialising in malfeasance and crime.

The data involved included first and last names, work contact information and the location where each employee works. The company took care to specify that Amazon and its systems remain completely secure, as the breach occurred at one of their suppliers.
