The latest victim of this trend is Verizon, the US telecommunications giant - more precisely, the target of the latest attack was a specific section of the company's services: PTT records.

Push-to-talk technology involves pressing a button to enable transmission and releasing it to listen again, and is mainly used as an internal communication method by government agencies and emergency responders. The cyber attack did not impact the core consumer network offered by Verizon.
