According to X, Elon Musk's famous platform, an infringement of copyright is more serious and more deserving of immediate action than the publication of non-consensual nude images of a subject, or rather a victim. The social network in question, better known as Twitter, seems to have a much faster response time in the first mentioned case than in the second.
A team of researchers from the University of Michigan recently conducted an investigation in this regard, collecting the results in a paper that will be published shortly. From what they found, in the case of a report of non-consensual nudity, the platform will take several weeks to remove the content in question. Conversely, if the same content is reported as copyright infringement, the platform will remove it within a few hours.
According to the research team, the platform's behaviour stems from the DMCA, the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, which compels social networks to process and remove copyrighted material in a timely manner.
