Hurricane Helene seems, in fact, to have paved the way for Milton, its successor currently engaged in the destruction of the state of Florida. During the first days of October 2024, in fact, the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) was offline for days following the passage of Hurricane Helene. The huge data repository in question is based in Asheville, North Carolina, and was one of the last places touched by Hurricane Helene in the last week of September.
