The founder and president of the famous online messaging platform Telegram has recently come under the spotlight of the European media. The man, whose name is Pavel Durov, was accused of a series of crimes following an investigation by the French authorities in July.
His platform is often the subject of various, usually controversial, news stories, as it seems to be a favourite of criminals and ill-intentioned people for the execution of their plans: whether it is the buying and selling of drugs, the distribution of sexually explicit content of minors, or without the consent of those involved, or fraud, Telegram is always the main stage.
The twelve charges brought against Durov include complicity in what was mentioned above, refusal to cooperate with the authorities in the event of an investigation on the platform, and criminal conspiracy.
