It is somewhat ironic that a company that is used to receiving copyright infringement complaints, whether from small artists or big brands, is now on the other side of the story. Shein, the Chinese online fast fashion giant, recently shared some outrage at the practices of its competitor and compatriot Temu.
In fact, the company filed a civil complaint early last week, claiming that its rival should be held liable for a number of violations: counterfeiting, infringement of intellectual property rights, and fraud are just a few of the allegations mentioned - all to infiltrate the US market.
Allegedly, Temu used images of Shein to promote its products, infringing existing copyrights on the content. Shein, who has been accused of the same infringement countless times, by brands such as Dr. Martens, Ralph Lauren, Adidas and H&M - has been outraged by this behaviour.
