The Internet holds countless data for even a single user, it is now common knowledge that what is shared over the network will always remain within the eternal labyrinth that is the online environment. Nowadays, perhaps it is better to heed those usual warnings that suggest changing passwords, or making them more secure. To be on the safe side, perhaps it is also worth taking an extra look at the state of one's finances - just to make sure there is no sign of suspicious activity.

A hacker group called USDoD recently came into the spotlight thanks to a lawsuit filed by a victim of their latest attack. The man suffered identity theft and recounted how the group in question is in possession of 2.9 billion pieces of personal data collected from the records of National Public Data, a company specialising in background checks that was the victim of a major data breach last April.

The group's intention was to sell the collected data on the dark web for $3.5 million. The plan, however, failed when a hacker affiliated with a rival group leaked 2.7 billion records contained in the original collection.
