As presented in our recent article on the subject, the famous strike that shocked Hollywood in the second half of last year seems to have found a worthy successor within the video game industry. If the situation is not resolved soon, the entire online video game economy could suffer.

A month after the strike began, although it is centred on a single issue, the rules surrounding it are still unclear. According to the statement, games under development since before September 2023 are exempt from the strike- meaning that, on the contrary, games that need frequent updates will be the most affected.

The union released a statement for Aftermath, a popular gaming website, saying that if the strike lasted longer than 60 days, the titles affected by the protest would also include online games.
