Elon Musk, the famous businessman and investor behind the car company Tesla, recently announced a new goal for the company via a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). What the entrepreneur wrote promises ‘genuinely useful humanoid robots for internal Tesla use during the next year and hopefully for other companies in 2026’.

The announcement seems to have appeared during a rather disappointing period for the company: profits have fallen by almost half in the last three months. Musk would, in fact, apparently be interested in cutting Tesla's costs in front of this considerable weakening in demand for its cars.

However, the announced robotic assistant should not be a surprise - Optimus was supposed to be implemented within the company by the end of this year, tasked with performing ‘unsafe, repetitive or boring tasks’.
