On 19 July, the entire online universe on which we have come to rely fell victim to a considerably 'problematic' situation. On that Friday in July, the world woke up deprived of the most diverse services: from booking flights and appointments, to accessing financial accounts.
During the incident, 8.5 million Windows devices were directly affected by the situation, providing the famous 'blue screen of death' as the only response to millions of worried users. The incident was inadvertently caused by an update from Crowdstrike, a renowned leader in cybersecurity solutions.
Fortunately, it was clear from the outset that the malfunction was not caused by any kind of cyber attack, thus eliminating the possibility of malicious intent behind the incident that brought to its knees several companies and businesses that relied on the Windows operating system.
