Newsquest, the UK's second largest publisher of regional and local newspapers, is responsible for the management of over 200 titles including the Glasgow Herald, the Brighton and Hove Argus and the Lancashire Telegraph. Recently, the media group has shown great resourcefulness towards current technology by hiring eight artificial intelligence-assisted reporters.

This innovation stems from the need to create quick and simple content, such as the minutes of a local planning commission, without wasting employees' time.

The reporters, in fact, use a copywriting tool similar to ChatGPT, which draws on information from texts on the Internet, to which the writers submit reliable and secure content, which is then reworked in the style of the editor.
