The 'Lord of the Rings' universe boasts a certain level of fame, honourably achieved, as well as a considerable community of fans and would-be successors. Such a saga can only change the world, leaving its mark and inspiring those interested in the content.

Recently, fanfiction writer Demetrious Polychron opened a legal battle against JRR Tolkien's estate, claiming that the TV series 'Rings of Power', released in September 2022, infringed the copyrights on 'The Fellowship of the King', the first of a 7-book saga written by Polychron himself, and described by him as 'the perfect sequel'.

The court hearing the case dismissed the charges, pointing out that Polychron's text did in fact infringe Amazon's prequel.
