X Lags Behind TikTok, Meta In Restricting ‘Nudify’ Apps for Non-Consensual AI Porn.

During the first week of December the internet saw a spike in the popularity of artificial intelligence apps aimed at generating pornographic images - the individuals depicted, of course, never gave consent to the manipulation of their image in any way, compromising or otherwise. These kinds of apps are called "Nudify" and use AI to virtually "strip" subjects.

Meta and Tiktok promptly began blocking search terms related to this topic, spurred on by questions from journalists interested in developments in the situation. These terms, to date, do not generate any content on the Instagram and Tiktok apps - on X, however, it appears that Nudify content is still freely available.

A week after the online scandal, digital entrepreneur Elon Musk's famous social network X (formerly Twitter) has not yet implemented any restrictions regarding the use of the apps mentioned above.
