Nevertheless, 40 years after the last similar issue, 21-year-old Jaswant Singh Chail was sentenced to 9 years in prison after showing up at Windsor Castle with clear intentions of assassinating Queen Elizabeth II. More precisely, on Christmas Day 2021 the then 19-year-old Singh scaled the castle walls with a mask and a high-powered, loaded crossbow.
Questioned by the authorities, the boy confessed that he wanted revenge on the Monarch following the Amritsar Massacre in 1919 and, most notably, that he made his decision following a detailed conversation with an artificial intelligence chatbot.
