The idea of a virtual pop star is not exactly new; Alvin & The Chipmunks filled this role as early as the last century, and Hatsune Miku, the beloved vocaloid who has been around since 2007, increases in popularity year by year.
The latest innovation in the field seems to be called Noonoouri: the digital character created by German designer Joerg Zuber features vibrant blue hair and an online following on par with a modest influencer. Completely created via artificial intelligence, this virtual singer has already been cast by Warner Music as "the first avatar artist."
The great interest shown in her stems, in part, from today's lofty ambitions of record companies; thanks to her virtual nature, Noonoouri is able to be in multiple places at once, change clothes in a second, and alter her sound as needed.
