During early November, the famous Bletchley Park will host the UK AI Safety Summit, the first global government meeting focused on AI safety - it will also bring together leading companies in the field, civil society groups and research experts.
In the months leading up to the event, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and other UK officials are traveling the world, meeting with other world leaders and figures interested in the field. Their goal is to come to some sort of agreement on a joint statement that can warn of the dangers of using AI by rogue actors.
The thought that this technology is the necessary means to build bioweapons, or threats that evade even human control, is increasingly present within the government sector.
