The news comes straight from Silicon Valley, where the Amazon giant is working to keep up with other AI-dominant companies - Google and Microsoft. The company Anthropic, now identified as a potential rival to OpenAi, recently announced an arctic intelligence service called "Claude" - a competitor to ChatGPT, for all intents and purposes.
Amazon's intentions are clear; investing $4 billion in the Anthropic startup will allow the company to vision and support Claude's growth. Originally, Amazon was to invest $1.25 billion initially, taking a minority stake in the company.
With the announcement of Claude 2, however, the company announced that the investment may go up to $4 billion.
