Artificial Intelligence, nowadays, scares many professionals in the creative and artistic fields: not even the film industry is immune to it. Concern about this technological development has been making its way inside Hollywood studios for some time now, sowing discord among workers.
During the recent Venice Film Festival, participants got to see artificial intelligence and VR and XR technologies from a new angle. Thanks to a VR installation on the event's so-called "Immersive Island," attendees were treated to an inimitable experience: by sitting in front of a computer and answering personal questions, the AI in question made sure to create a tailor-made portrait of the viewer's life within seconds.
Despite recent developments regarding the SAG-AFTRA strike, organizers of the festival's "Venice Immersive" section said the current situation brought some significant collateral benefits.
