‘Very wonderful, very toxic’: how AI became the culture war’s new frontier.

Artificial Intelligence is expanding like wildfire, reaching into every aspect of everyone's life.

Recently, it has come under the spotlight of the culture war perpetrated in the political arena: the far right claims that it has become too "woke," while experts rightly argue that it is not a sentient being with views of its own. The term "woke" refers to extremely modern thinking, typical of the newer generations, with access to education, the Internet, and educational environments with very broad horizons; which goes, inevitably, against the more conservative and traditionalist views to which the now older generations are accustomed.

For example, some individuals belonging to the latter have complained, claiming that ChatGPT has begun to "editorialize the truth" by giving "strange answers like that there are more than two genders."
