The NFT market is losing more and more relevance with each passing day; after months of stalling, even those originally enthusiastic about this innovation are working to remove themselves from the equation altogether. Nevertheless, some players in the Internet world have already found a method to exploit this "moment of weakness."

The FBI recently shed light on a new practice spreading in the field: cyber criminals masquerading as legitimate NFT developers to steal cryptocurrency and other digital assets from unsuspecting users.

Typically, perpetrators gain access to NFT developers' accounts by promoting new "exclusive" NFT releases and employing deceptive advertising campaigns designed to create a strong sense of urgency.
