With the growth of generative AI systems, the term 'plagiarism machines' is beginning to catch on. Many of these services are used today within any creative field, more specifically, in this case we are considering the field of video games.
DungeonAI is a text-based fantasy simulation running on OpenAI's GPT-3, in which the player chooses some basic aspects of the story, and the AI takes over the role of a sort of 'Dungeon Master'. This mode already hints at a definite copyright problem that the games industry is about to face. The user created a story using his own imagination, but used an AI to do so. Who wrote the story? And who gets paid for this work?
The ownership claims become even more complex: Who owns the output? The company that developed the artificial intelligence or the user?
