British Museum in hot water again: this time over copyright infringement

The recent exhibition, "China's Hidden Century", aimed at exploring 19th-century China and proposed by the British Museum in London, seems to be finding considerable success, both in person and online.

Vancouver-based editor, poet and translator Yilin Wang, @yilinwrites on Twitter, recently shared her story on the platform, explaining how the museum in question used, without permission, her translations of poems by revolutionary Chinese writer Qiu Jin.

As a solution, the British Museum apologized to her, offering her financial compensation for the time the translations appeared in the exhibition and for the continued use of quotes from her translations in the exhibition catalog.
