Illegal Streaming: illegal resources seized by the Financial Police and 13 persons charged.

Members of the Special Unit for the Protection of Privacy and Technological Fraud of the Guardia di Finanza in Rome recently investigated and charged 13 persons, living between Italy and Germany. The individuals in question were acting as administrators of social channels aimed at the abusive sale of subscriptions to TV programmes protected by copyright. In addition, an order was also issued to seize 60 resources of the Telegram platform.

The criminal proceedings are still at the preliminary stage and the liability of the above-mentioned suspects will only be definitively established in the event of an irrevocable conviction.

We emphasise that the infringement of intellectual property rights constitutes an extremely lucrative illegal activity for criminal organisations and generates considerable damage for the film industries.
