A New York lawyer is facing a court hearing after his firm used ChatGPT for legal research. The judge stated that the court was faced with an unprecedented circumstance after a document was discovered that referred to sample legal cases that did not exist.

The lawyer in question told the court that he was not aware that the content proposed by the AI could be false, despite the fact that ChatGPT creates original texts upon request, warning that it can produce unreliable information.
