Square Enix Resolves to Continue with Web3, Blockchain Gaming Drive

Japanese gaming giant Square Enix, creator of titles such as 'Final Fantasy' and 'Kingdom Hearts', reaffirmed its commitment to 'blockchain gaming', announcing that it will continue to develop blockchain, Web3 and NFT games over the next 12 months.

The community's reaction to this decision was not the best, with the company facing a furious backlash from many gamers as early as 2022, following the first public announcement about it.

However, despite the less than enthusiastic reception of its NFT-related titles, such as Symbiogenesis, the company stated that it will continue to focus on the growth of Web3.
