The ALPHV group, notoriously known for their use of ransomware viruses, claims to have hacked into the popular "Ring" security camera system, owned by Amazon.
The company said it had no evidence of any breaches, later explaining that only one third-party vendor was victim to a ransomware attack. ALPHV promptly responded, threatening Amazon to publish the sensitive data they allegedly collected.
The malware used by the group takes the name of BlackCat, and represents the main asset used in their violation practices. On the ALPHV website it is even possible to find a section dedicated to sensitive data already published by the criminals.
