A post on Breached claims to have data of 240+ million Deezer users

A sample of 5 million users has been posted on Breached on November 6th 2022. The sample is part of allegedly 240+ million records of Deezer. The French distributor admitted a data breach suffered by a third party in 2019 and whom which the company did not work since 2020. The breached information contains first and last names, date of birth, gender, email address (unencrypted), location (city and country), join date and user ID. According to Deezer, no sensitive information such as password or payment information is available in the breached information.
Should the breach become publicly available or successfully sold, it could lead to spear phishing campaigns targeting specifically the platform's users. Deezer's users shall be aware of the incident and pay major attention to unsolicited emails.
