FN Meka, the virtual AI rapper, was recently dropped by the Capitol Records record company. The artist's name, if you can call it that, has already been removed from the label's website, which has publicly apologized to the inadvertently targeted community.
The non-profit group Industry Blackout had previously expressed its opinion on FN Meka, calling it "a fusion of disgusting stereotypes" and emphasizing its use of themes and lyrics reserved for artists who are actually part of the culture and community - the AI may use the same topics, but it would never have to deal with real-life consequences.
The situation degenerated once further evidence was identified; indeed it testifies to the lack of sensitivity of the AI ββββand its creators.
