In October 2025, South Korean multinational company Samsung announced the launch of a new application for its smart TVs. The app is managed by Perplexity AI, a renowned company specialising in artificial intelligence, founded in 2022 and known for its search engine. However, the service offered through Samsung televisions seems to be just an excuse to get users away from their phone screens and onto their television screens.

Although artificial intelligence is not necessary in every single aspect of the average user's online life, the appeal of the technology (and the resulting economic benefits) is attracting more and more interest. Perplexity AI has distinguished itself for the quality of its results as a research-oriented AI, setting itself apart from the general opinion regarding ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude, thus making it a better option for the transition to the “big screen”, or at least slightly larger than a phone display.
